Bilka, a leading metal roofing systems producer in Romania, is gearing up to establish its first factory abroad to enhance its export capabilities. Currently, the company’s manufacturing activities are concentrated within Romania, limiting its export potential, as founder and CEO Horatiu Tepes shared with Ziarul Financiar.

Strategic Expansion Plans

"We are diligently working on this project. I hope that by the end of the year, we will have concrete plans for production in a neighboring country," Tepes stated.

Export Growth Potential

The potential for growth in foreign markets is substantial, with Bilka’s exports reaching €40 million out of a total turnover of €248 million in 2023. This move aims to capitalize on the high demand for their products outside Romania.

Production Capabilities

In 2023, Bilka processed approximately 140,000 tonnes of painted sheet metal, with 40,000-45,000 tonnes sourced from the Liberty Galati steel mill, according to Tepes.
