INTUS Windows, a U.S.-based manufacturer of PVC windows and doors, has revealed plans to construct a new production facility in Šiauliai, Lithuania, adjacent to its existing plant. The 13,000 m² facility is expected to break ground later this year, with operations anticipated to commence by mid-2025. The expansion will create approximately 150 new jobs.
Founded in 2010 by two Lithuanian expatriates, INTUS Windows initially served the East Coast of the United States, focusing on large-scale commercial projects, including hotels and office buildings. The company has since grown to operate in 48 states across the U.S.
In 2018, INTUS expanded its capabilities by establishing an estimating unit in Šiauliai, followed by the opening of a production plant in the Šiauliai Industrial Park in 2019, which now employs around 400 people.
Karolis Grigalius, Managing Director of INTUS Windows LT, emphasized that the new facility will allow the company to diversify its product offerings, solidify its presence in current markets, and explore new opportunities. The expansion is expected to increase the company’s workforce to over 500 specialists over the next three years, including roles in engineering, IT, production, and quality assurance.
INTUS is also strengthening its collaboration with local educational institutions, such as Kaunas University of Technology and Šiauliai College, to support research and development initiatives and facilitate internships. The company's educational partnerships are poised to play a crucial role in developing local talent and fostering innovation in the region.
Lithuanian Minister of the Economy and Innovation, Aušrinė Armonaitė, praised INTUS Windows’ choice of Šiauliai as its operational hub, noting the significant contributions the company has made to the region’s economic growth through job creation and skill development. She highlighted that the expansion and ongoing educational partnerships will further position Šiauliai as a center of innovation in manufacturing.
Elijus Čivilis, Managing Director of Invest Lithuania, remarked that INTUS Windows’ decision to expand its operations in Šiauliai reflects the confidence in Lithuania’s manufacturing sector and the availability of skilled technical talent. He pointed out that the combination of INTUS’ expertise in windows and doors with Šiauliai’s manufacturing strengths will be instrumental in producing high-quality, innovative products.
