Prague, May 19 (CTK) - Czech small and mid-sized companies will receive loans worth at least EUR200m (about Kc5.3bn) from the European Investment Bank (EIB), EIB told CTK in a press release Tuesday.
The loans will improve the access of companies to mid-term and long-term sources of financing and will help moderate the impact of the current global economic recession.
The EIB will provide a total of EUR440m worth of loans to small and mid-sized companies in Central and Eastern Europe.
In the Czech Republic, Ceska sporitelna of the Erste Bank group will mediate the provision of loans from EIB. Ceska sporitelna signed the respective contract with the EIB Tuesday.
In addition, the company Immorent of the Erste group will provide another EUR100m from EIB funds to eight countries of the region, including the Czech Republic.
