NSK Europe is excited to announce the opening of its new branch in Ploiesti, Romania, as part of its strategic expansion across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). This new office, set to be fully operational by September 2024, strengthens NSK's presence in Romania's rapidly developing industrial sector and enhances the company's ability to serve distribution partners across the region, including key markets like Bulgaria, Hungary, Czechia, and Poland.
Ploiesti, one of Romania's largest industrial hubs, is strategically located near Bucharest Airport, offering excellent connectivity for NSK’s operations throughout Southeastern Europe. The new office will handle sales, customer service, and technical support, offering a full range of NSK products. Given Romania’s industrial landscape, the demand for roller bearings and large-size bearings, particularly for industries like steel, cement, quarrying, and mining, is expected to be strong.
Valentin Blanaru, who has been with NSK for over 15 years, will lead the new office as Territory Manager for Romania. He will focus on building a local team capable of providing comprehensive sales and engineering support to customers, enhancing NSK’s market presence in Romania and beyond. Blanaru will also work closely with local distribution partners to drive growth through NSK’s AIP (Added Value Programme), which aims to boost sales and create new opportunities for partners across the region.
Commenting on the new role, Blanaru said, "I am excited to lead this new chapter for NSK in Romania. Our goal is to provide exceptional support to our customers and partners, leveraging our strong R&D capabilities and deep industry expertise."
The Romanian office will report to Maciej Piatkowski, OEM Director for NSK’s European Industrial Business Unit. "With more than 20 years of experience in Eastern Europe, particularly through our presence in Poland, we see Romania as a vital market for growth and a base to expand our reach throughout Southeastern Europe,” said Piatkowski. “Valentin’s extensive market knowledge and leadership skills make him the ideal candidate to lead our expansion in this fast-evolving market.”
NSK’s investment in Romania underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening its distribution network and industrial partnerships across CEE. By establishing this new office, NSK is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for industrial products and services in Romania and neighboring countries like Bulgaria, Hungary, Czechia, and Poland, furthering its industrial investment strategy in the region.
