CANPACK Group has officially launched the expansion of its aluminium beverage can production facility in Bydgoszcz, Poland. The groundbreaking ceremony welcomed company executives, local authorities, business partners, and the Chargé d’Affaires a.i. from the U.S. Embassy in Poland, underscoring the project's regional and international significance.
This major investment, valued at approximately PLN 440 million (around €100 million), is supported by the Pomeranian Special Economic Zone and entrusted to ALSTAL Grupa Budowlana as the general contractor. The expansion is expected to create over 100 new jobs, further boosting the local economy. CANPACK’s Bydgoszcz plant currently employs more than 470 people.
Increasing Production Capacity by Over One Billion Cans Annually
The project will significantly increase CANPACK’s aluminium can production capacity—by more than one billion cans per year—to meet rising demand from customers across Poland and Europe. The expansion includes the construction of a new production hall, installation of advanced equipment, upgrades to existing lines, and supporting infrastructure. Operations are scheduled to begin in Q2 2026.
“This investment highlights CANPACK’s commitment to supporting the development of Poland’s packaging sector and addressing growing European market needs,” said Marian Miskov, Member of the Management Board and Regional Director for Poland at CANPACK S.A.
Strategic Growth with Local Impact
By choosing Bydgoszcz, where CANPACK has operated for nearly 25 years, the company strengthens its long-term strategy of delivering high-quality, innovative aluminium packaging solutions. The project will also benefit the wider community, including the redevelopment of Kobaltowa Street with new parking areas, pedestrian walkways, and a bike path.
“The Bydgoszcz expansion supports our vision of sustainable growth, innovation, and job creation. We’re proud that this investment will enhance our local presence and strengthen our offering across Europe,” said Małgorzata Podrecka, Vice President of CANPACK.
Construction Led by ALSTAL Grupa Budowlana
The industrial construction phase is being handled by ALSTAL Grupa Budowlana, headquartered in Bydgoszcz and renowned for delivering complex infrastructure projects across Poland. The new production and warehouse facility will span nearly 19,000 square meters with a volume exceeding 215,000 cubic meters.
“We’re honoured to lead this flagship project in our home city. Our goal is to complete the construction safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards,” commented Jarosław Szczupak, President of ALSTAL Grupa Budowlana.
