Skanska has secured a contract with the Railway Administration of the Czech Republic to modernize the Chrastava and Hrádek nad Nisou railway stations in northern Bohemia. This project is valued at CZK 1.2 billion (€47 million) and will be included in Skanska's order bookings for Europe in the third quarter of 2024.
Project Details
The modernization project involves significant upgrades to two railway stations, including the construction of 4 kilometers of new tracks and the installation of 14 new switches and advanced station security systems. Skanska will also construct four barrier-free platforms, several new bridges and crossroads, and new station buildings, including a small bus terminal in Hrádek. These enhancements aim to increase train speeds and improve overall station accessibility and functionality.
Timeline and Impact
Construction is set to begin in September 2024, with an expected completion date in December 2025. Upon completion, the modernization will enhance the efficiency and speed of train services, providing improved transportation infrastructure for the region.
