Swedish heat pump manufacturer Aira has officially launched a state-of-the-art EUR 300 million plant in Poland. This facility is set to reach an impressive annual production capacity of 500,000 units, addressing the increasing demand across Europe.
Expansion into Key European Markets
Aira, established by Vargas Holding—the same company behind battery producer Northvolt—is focusing on expanding its presence in European markets such as the UK and Germany, where heat pump adoption is currently lower than in Sweden.
EU's Energy Independence Initiative
In response to the energy crisis exacerbated by Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine, the European Union has pledged to deploy at least 30 million heat pumps by the end of the decade. This initiative aims to reduce the EU's reliance on imported fossil fuels, promoting greater energy independence and sustainability.
Aira's new plant in Poland plays a crucial role in meeting this ambitious goal, supporting the EU's commitment to greener energy solutions and enhancing the continent's energy security.
