In the Central and Eastern European (CEE) DIY retail market, Hornbach, the German home improvement and garden product retailer, has expanded its presence in Slovakia with the opening of its fifth store. Situated in Nitra, a city in the western part of Slovakia, the new store boasts a retail space of about 16,000 square meters, which includes a 5,000 square meter drive-in area for convenient shopping. The Slovakian outlets of Hornbach now offer an extensive selection of approximately 120,000 items. The company has committed an investment of around 21 million euros towards acquiring the land, constructing, and outfitting the Nitra location. Hornbach's expansion in Slovakia is further marked by its existing stores, with two located in the capital city of Bratislava, and one each in the eastern cities of Košice and Prešov.
