A cross-party delegation from the Czech Republic is visiting Taiwan from Monday through Thursday to deepen Taiwan-Czech cooperation in areas such as cybersecurity, combating disinformation, and foreign interference. The visit underscores the growing ties between the two democracies, according to Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
High-Level Meetings with Taiwanese Officials
The delegation, led by Marek Benda, Chair of the Czech Republic-Taiwan Parliamentary Platform and a senior member of the Czech Chamber of Deputies, is set to meet with President William Lai, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung, and Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu. These discussions aim to explore avenues for collaboration across various sectors.
Strengthening Democratic Collaboration
In addition to government meetings, the Czech lawmakers will engage with local think tanks and experts to address pressing global challenges, including enhancing cybersecurity measures and countering foreign interference.
