Founded in 1876, Burgsmullers product portfolio today extends from wear parts for plastics processing machines up to complete machine tools. Within the frame of our extensive contract manufacturing activities we produce components of helical geometry to your specification. For more than fifty years, we have also built auxiliary groups and machine tool components.
Having developed the whirling process - which is manifested by numerous patents - and decisively contributed to the development of the BTA method, Burgsmueller is in a position to provide highly efficient solutions for metal-cutting applications.
Many years of experience and a profound knowledge in the manufacture of screws, barrels, spindles and other components enable us to efficiently produce the spare parts required for your extruders and compounding lines with short delivery deadlines. In addition, we also manufacture parts on the basis of samples, manufacturer-specific or type-specific data and drawings. A wide range of special and functional materials provides tailored solutions for specific wear and corrosion requirements.

Various special machines are applied for metal-cutting of external threads of different dimensions to ensure optimum machining parameters for your specific workpieces.
Internal threads with minor diameters are machined by means of screw taps. For larger diameters up to a length of 1.5 x D, special cutting tools are applied.
High-precision machine spindle nuts of excessive length (> 1.5 x D) are manufactured on the internal thread whirling systems Burgsmueller developed for this purpose.
Several lathes, milling and drilling machines (conventional and CNC version) are available for the finishing of threaded spindles as well as for manufacturing threaded nuts.

| Axial stroke whirling Axial stroke whirling is a suitable process for almost any pitch and inside diameter.
The basic idea of this process consists in substituting the rotation of the tool inclined by the pitch angle - that is required in order to produce the spiral contour - by a superimposed rotation/translation movement. |
