Operating a world’s top-class tooling factory
Tooling is indispensible for manufacturing of a wide variety of machines and parts, and tooling systems are products for which the demand has long been expanding year by year in Japan in line with the development of the metal machining industry. Big Daishowa Seiki Co Ltd is the top manufacturer in the tooling field. The company’s BIG brand is widely known both in Japan and internationally as the world’s premier tooling brand.
Big Daishowa Saiki is a relatively young company that was established in its present location 1967 by Ryoichi Kitaguchi, the current chairman. But it has grown rapidly as a result of active research and development and a succession of technological tieups with overseas companies, while devoting its energies entirely to the tooling field. At present, it is a middle standing enterprise operating four factories on the island of Awaji in Hyogo Prefecture in addition to its Higashiosaka Factory, as well as being a representative company of Higashiosaka City.
The company’s four factories in Awaji, which produce standard products, are connected to each other online and operate a production system that thoroughly controls each stage of the production process up to and including assembly by making full use of CNC lathes, machining centers and grinders. In particular, the No.3 Factory is a linked online with the company’s sales offices throughout Japan and functions as a world’s top-class intelligent factory annexed to a distribution center.
Moreover, the Higashiosaka Factory, which is located in the company’s birthplace, operates in cooperation with a group of companies in Higashiosaka that are renowned for their high-technology capabilities. This factory continues to carry out major roles as a technology development hub and a production factory for custom-order goods.
For the future, Big Daishowa Seiki will continue to positively pursue the further development of tooling system technology and work towards the expansion and completion of its sales network.
