As we enter a new five-year period, 2019-2024, a new strategy has been developed by the EBRD for Slovenia. As well as direct communication with Slovenian authorities, the EBRD has also been consulting with the public. Now, the EBRD recognises the main priorities and where resources should be sent in the coming years.
Currently, the EBRD has concerns regarding the following;
• Capital market instruments • Structured debt • Cross-border investments • Equity financing • Green economy technologies
As a result, there are two main priorities for Slovenia with the first looking to boost good governance and competitiveness. While focusing on privatisations and supporting private companies, this will be complemented by the second goal of encouraging green technologies.
Compared to others, Slovenia is in a fantastic position and is considered highly advanced. With the growth of small businesses, the country is competitive so this new strategy will aim to fill the gaps in governance, innovation, and the transition to efficient energy solutions.
