For all laminate flooring produced in Europe, sales in Eastern Europe stabilised in 2018. According to the European Producers of Laminate Flooring Association (EPLF), Eastern European sales hit the same figure in 2018 as it did in 2017; 128 million square metres.
How did each country contribute to this?
Russia – With the largest sales of all, sales in Russia reached 39 million square metres which was an increase of over 10% compared to 2017.
Romania – Interestingly, Romania was only one of two countries where sales reduced; from 13.2 million square metres to 11 million square metres.
Poland – For Poland, the story was very much the same with sales thought to be around 29/30 million square metres for the past two years.
Ukraine – A 4% boost was experienced in Ukraine with the 2018 sales total at 7.6 million square metres.
Bulgaria – As the second country with a decrease in sales in 2018, Bulgaria’s sales reduced from 5 million square metres to 4.4 million.
Hungary – Finally, Hungary enjoyed a small rise from 6.5 million square metres to 7 million.
