Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill have commenced the production of SKE i4 Premium Ultra-High-Strength Paper at its new paper mill in Russia.
It was gathered from the announcement that the High Strength Paper products are produced with a new and advanced paper machine which was supplied by Voith in the fall of 2017. The paper produced at the new mill has the same weight as the regular SKE grade (per square meter) without the i4 prefix; however, this new paper has a considerably stronger mechanical strength above 15% stronger than the regular products.
During this pilot project, the production of paper weighing 90 grams has made it possible to achieve the desired strength and features during the recommended 3-day production time frame. It is reported that the first export consignment from this new mill will be shipped to Vietnam.
It should be noted that the Segezha Group owned Ksilotek Siberia has commenced the construction of a new pellet plant in Russia.
