German automotive industry supplier Continental has rolled out 250 million wheel sensors at its Veszprém plant in west Hungary since production started 18 years ago.
Less than fifty people worked at the plant when it started making vehicle parts in 1993 and now it employs 1,200, including 250 development engineers, said Continental Teves Magyarország managing director Tamás Pápai.
Last year, the plant generated revenue of more than HUF 66 billion.
Continental has six plants in Hungary and employs about 4,000 people.
