Valmet, a leading provider of process technologies, automation, and services for various industries, has recently inked an extension of the service agreement with AS Estonian Cell's aspen pulp mill located in Kunda, Estonia. The original three-year agreement was extended for an additional five years, further solidifying the partnership between Estonian Cell and Valmet.
This order was included in Valmet's orders received for the first quarter of 2023, although the value of the order remains undisclosed. Rain Pärn, CTO of AS Estonian Cell, expressed satisfaction with the continuation of the partnership, noting that the collaboration with Valmet has enabled the development of their processes to increase production availability and efficiency.
Tomas Höglund, Director, Technology Sales, EMEA Pulp Services, EMEA Area, Valmet, also expressed pride in continuing the partnership with AS Estonian Cell and supporting them in reaching their production targets.
Under the service agreement, continuous collaboration on spare parts, process evaluations, and condition assessments of mechanical equipment will be provided, as well as yearly shutdowns of the fiber line and baling line. AS Estonian Cell, a Kunda-based aspen pulp mill, is owned by the Austrian Heinzel Group and produces 190,000 tons of aspen pulp annually, which is utilized in the production of printing paper, cardboard, tissue paper, and special-use paper.
