UK Barclays, a British financial company, has doubled down on its current investments in the Czech Republic, recently announcing that it will hire nearly two hundred employees at its centre of excellence in Prague. This is in addition to the 550 employees Barclays already has in the country.
Many of the people Barclays plans to hire will be specialists in the areas of project management, risk analysis, and software development. These men and women will follow in the footsteps of some 250 employees form the service provider EPAM, who transferred to Barclays earlier this year.
According to operations manager Steven Penketh, the highly-educated and qualified workforce of the Czech Republic, as well as the outstanding infrastructure, will allow Barclays to offer more comprehensive services in the near future. Barclays has been working with CzechInvest since 2015, and boasts of a number of plans for future endeavours.
