Belgian plastics processor Fremach International is preparing to invest €10m to construct a 22,000m2 production plant in the western Slovakian city of Trnava.
The facility, which will comprise a 10,440m2 production unit and a warehouse covering 11,275m2, is to manufacture a range of plastics components for the electronics and automotive industries including power sockets, mounting brackets and car dashboards.
The plant, whose construction is due to be completed by the end of this year, is expected to process around 6,300 tpa of polymer granulate including ABS, polystyrene and polyamide 66.
It is understood that Fremach (Trnava) plans to install in the new facility around 15 injection presses a clamping force of up to 350 tonnes and 23 presses of over 350 tonnes brought from its previous Trnava site.
Diepenbeek, Belgium-based Fremach group, which specialises in added value plastic part production through multi component and insert moulding and decoration, has expanded rapidly in recent years. Apart from Belgium where it runs plants in Diepenbeek and Izegem, the firm now has production units in KromÄĹíĹž, Czech Republic and, through its partner Epiq, in Guadalajara, Mexico.
In October 2010, Fremach added a business in Germany with its acquisition of a rival injection moulder, KM Decorative Components of Weilmünster which brought in injection presses up to 2,400 tonnes.
Fremach’s Slovakian operation was acquired back in 2007 from Punch International of Sint-Martins-Latem, Belgium. Fremach group now operates a wide variety of injection moulding machines ranging from 250 tonnes to 2,400 tonnes clamping force.
