A new logistics centre worth €50 million has been inaugurated in SeĹžana, Slovenia, by Go Asset, an Austrian logistics real estate developer. This facility, covering an area of 62,000 m2, marks Go Asset's largest project in the Adriatic region and has been handed over to the German retailer Tedi. The logistics centre is scheduled to commence operations in early 2024.
Located near the former FernetiÄi border crossing with Italy, the site was acquired by Go Asset from a bad bank. In addition to the completed facility, there are plans to construct two more large buildings on approximately 33 hectares of land, although the tenants for these structures have not yet been determined.
Tedi, a major non-food retailer based in Germany, intends to utilize the SeĹžana logistics centre and the Slovenian Port of Koper for their logistics and distribution operations in Central and Southeast Europe.
Jens Brüggeman, a board member at Tedi, highlighted that the company operates in 15 countries and is set to open its 3,000th store this year. With 60 stores in Slovenia and a workforce of 400 employees, Tedi continues to expand its presence.
Mayor Andrej Sila of SeĹžana expressed the significance of this occasion for the municipality, as it establishes recognition in the global logistics market, further enhancing its reputation.
