DP wins biomass district heating project in Poland; We are thrilled to announce that our organization has been awarded the contract for an innovative district heating project in Poland. This is the first of its kind, utilizing loose straw as fuel, and will be led by DP, who are providing the fuel to stack at the Łąkowa Heat and Power Plant in Grudziądz. This power plant is set to produce 12.5 MW of steam and will aid in reducing coal consumption in the area by developing a new fuel yard for locally sourced straw wastes. The agreement was signed on November 4th between OPEC Grudziądz and SBB ENERGY, and finally implemented by DP after several years of negotiations. With this win, not only will local communities benefit from an improved energy security solution but there is also potential for further impact when it comes to reducing reliance upon traditional fossil fuels and promoting sustainable energy sources across Poland.
