Pharmaceutical packaging manufacturer Gerresheimer is spending €12m in expanding its plant in Horsovsky Tyn, Czech Republic, doubling the size of the production area to 10,000m2.
The plant manufactures packaging for the Gerresheimer Medical Plastic Systems and the expansion will allow the company to make more products for the treatment of chronic illnesses such as diabetes and asthma.
In a statement, CEO Uwe Röhrhoff said: “We intend to continue extending our share of the market with our medical plastic systems for diagnostics and for the safe and reliable application of medications. Our Czech plant will play a crucial role in this process.”
In April, Gerresheimer reported a successful financial first quarter, with group revenues increasing 5.2% to €236.6m.
Ebitda margins were up 17.7% from a year ago and net income tripled to €7.1m.
