Valmet has renewed its service contract with the AS Estonian Cell pulp mill located in Kunda, Estonia. The initial three-year partnership has been expanded for another five-year term.
The transaction was recorded in Valmet's Q1 2023 orders, although the specific financial details remain undisclosed.
Rain Pärn, the CTO of AS Estonian Cell, expressed satisfaction with the extended collaboration, highlighting that, "With Valmet's expertise, we aim to further enhance our processes, boosting production efficiency and availability."
Tomas Höglund, Director of Technology Sales for EMEA Pulp Services at Valmet, added, "We're honored to keep supporting AS Estonian Cell in their pursuit of production excellence."
Service Agreement Overview
The contract encompasses ongoing cooperation in areas such as spare parts provision, process evaluations, equipment condition reviews, and annual maintenance shutdowns for both the fiber and baling lines.
AS Estonian Cell, a subsidiary of the Austrian Heinzel Group, operates a significant aspen pulp mill in Kunda. Annually, the mill generates around 190,000 tons of aspen pulp, which serves as a raw material for products like printing paper, cardboard, tissue paper, and specialty papers.
