Italian woodworking technology exports see 31.5% growth in first nine months of 2021
Intro: Despite global economic slowdown, Italian woodworking technology exports are seeing significant growth in the Central and Eastern European market. According to data published by ISTAT, Italian exports of woodworking machinery and plants increased by 31.5% compared to the same period in 2020 . This impressive growth can be attributed to the increasing demand for "Made in Italy" products in countries like Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. With the world economy still showing signs of instability, it will be interesting to see how this sector continues to grow in the coming months.
Poland and Russia top growth markets for woodworking technology
Despite the slowdown of the global economy, Italian wood technologies continue to grow in central and eastern Europe. In 2018, the sector's exports totaled 1.139 billion euros - a modest increase of 0.8% over the previous year. The United States continues to be the top customer country, with 113 million euros worth of exports (an increase of 14% over 2017) followed by France (87 million) and Poland (81 million). These positive results are due to the high quality of Italian products and their competitive prices in comparison to other European countries. Italy's wood technology sector is therefore well-positioned for continued growth in this important market region.
Russia market good for woodworking technology
Despite a slowdown in the German market, Italian wood technologies continue to grow throughout Central and Eastern Europe. In the first nine months of 2021, exports totaled 77 million euros, with Russia among the top 10 customers. With a growth rate of 77%, Russia is one of the most dynamic markets for Italian products. Thanks to its diversified product offering and competitive prices, Italian companies are well-positioned to take advantage of the opportunities offered by this region.
