Nestlé launches HUF 35 bln expansion at pet food plant
Nestlé Hungária on Monday announced the launch of a HUF 35 billion upgrade and expansion at its pet food plant in Bük, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The investment will create 120 jobs and boost annual output by 50,000 tonnes from Q4 2022.
Nestlé Hungária managing director Péter Noszek said the number of truckloads that leave the company each day will rise from 70 to over 90 as a result of the investment. He noted that more than half of the plant's feedstock comes from Hungarian suppliers, and the project will raise that ratio further.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said local companies sell Nestle over HUF 50 bln of products and services a year.
He announced the launch of a three-year training program for Nestlé Hungária's 2,180 workers that will be supported with a HUF 363 mln government grant.
