In autumn of this year, the production of Barlinek floorboards's will be in its first foreign factory, and will start in Ukraine. The construction of the next plant will start this year, near Moscow, and this is not the end.
Ukraine The current year has been full of large foreign investments from Barlinek S.A. Just in few months, the first foreign plant of Barlinek floorboards will be opened in the village of Winnica in Ukraine. Besides the modern line of flooring, among others, a coniferous and hardwood sawmill with a frieze department, a timber drying-house and a factory of biofuel in the form of pellets were built. The newest plant of Barlinek floorboards is considered the largest of such a kind in Ukraine. Its productive capacity will reach 2 m sq.m. of floorboards per annum. Ultimately, it will employ around 400 people. The cost of the Ukrainian investment along with the infrastructure will amount to 150 m zlotys. A significant part of the production will be aimed at the local market.
Russia
This new experience will pay off in the construction of a second Barlinek foreign plant, which will be created in the village of Czerepowce, 500 km north of Moscow. According to an analysis, a growing local market creates vast opportunities of growth for the timber processing industry. The selection of this particular localization was dictated by the rich base of high quality resources. The beginning of construction is planned at the turn of the year 2007 and 2008. Similarly to Ukraine, the plant will constitute an independent production unit. Beside the Barlinek floorboard line, with the capacity of about 3 m sq.m., a Polish partnership will also invest in among others: a biofuel production plant and the line of flooring accessories. Based on the knowledge held, it will be one of the largest factories of this kind in Russia. The majority of its production will be aimed at the local market. The opening of the Russian line of Barlinek floorboards is planned at the beginning of 2009. The estimated cost of this investment will amount to 210 m zlotys. The investment will be financed from last year's shares issuance, and from company's resources and credits.
Romania
At present, the penetration of the Romanian market is in progress with special attention to possible investment. No binding decisions have been made as yet, so it is too early to speak about the details. Putting all the plants into operation will have a significant impact on the growth of Barlinek's S.A. production, which remains at the level of 6 m sq.m. of floorboard per annum. It will make the partnership one of the biggest producers of natural layered flooring in the world. Four Polish lines located in Barlinek, in the West Pomeranian province are used at a 100%. The company is a leader on the national market for natural flooring; its share stands at 65%. At the same time, more than 75% of floorboards production is exported to 35 countries on three continents.
