Poland’s government has agreed on the 2010 budget draft bill, which they will present to parliament.
The draft projects a rise in the budget deficit to 52.2 billion zloty (over 12.5 billion euro). State revenue is expected to reach around 60 billion euro), with the economic growth for next year of 1.2 percent.
At a press conference following a meeting of the Cabinet, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that despite the extensive budget deficit, there is no reason for concern over the economic situation of the country.
“I would like to stress that the Council of Ministers accepted the Finance Ministry’s proposals with confidence that the 2010 budget bill attests to the fact the ministry and the government are fully in control of the situation,” he said.
The government forecasts that the economy is to follow an upward trend in the next few years, with the GDP reaching 2.8 percent in 2011 and a further increase to 3.4 percent by 2013.
