A delegation comprising Czech politicians and company representatives, led by Markéta Pekarová Adamová, the Speaker of the Czech Chamber of the Deputies, traveled to Taiwan with the aim of securing investments for the development of chip technologies in Czechia. Taiwan's government plans to invest $33 million in Czechia in areas related to advanced technologies, and the visit is intended to support the implementation of this plan. In addition, the Czech delegation plans to discuss the establishment of a joint Czech-Taiwanese chip research center, which would host Czech experts to gain advanced knowledge in the semiconductor sector and then use it in practice at the joint center. The high-level visit to Taiwan also aims to send a strong political message, highlighting the shared values of freedom, democracy, and human rights. Despite facing criticism from China, Czechia aims to strengthen its friendship ties with Taiwan even at the highest political level.
