The German company Jungheinrich will build a factory for the production of forklift trucks in Chomutov. About 350 people will find work in it. Construction will begin next year. Production is expected to start in 2023. The project budget is approximately 60 million euros which is approximately 1.5 billion crowns. Martin Koudelka from the company’s marketing department informed CTK about this today.
Growth in the Central Eastern European market
The new forklift truck factory by the German manufacturer, Jungheinrich, will be built near Prague and its capacity should reach 15 thousand vehicles per annum according to Martin Koudelka who works at the company. The German forklift truck manufacturer is opening a new manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic. This will be the first factory outside of Germany for this company. It comes at a time when they are expanding their reach into Europe with their "next generation" trucks, according to CEO Klaus Koudelka. The Chomutov plant has an area of 37,000 square meters and is located near Prague which allows for easy access to European markets. Construction on the factory will begin in September and it's expected to be complete by 2020. With its proximity to Eastern Europe, this could be a great investment opportunity for other companies interested in expansion into in the CEE area.
300 jobs for the CEE industrial sector
Jungheinrich has announced that it will be opening a new manufacturing plant in Chomutov, Czech Republic. The company plans to gradually move production of reach trucks from its current plant in Norderstedt to the new facility. This expansion is in response to increasing demand for Jungheinrich trucks worldwide. "The demand for Jungheinrich trucks is constantly growing, so we have to increase our production capacity," said CEO Hans-Georg Frey. "This will help us grow sustainably and profitably and increase the company’s long-term competitiveness." The new plant is expected to create over 300 jobs.
Jungheinrich grows stronger in Central and Eastern Europe
Jungheinrich, founded in 1953, offers handling technology, logistics systems and services. The Hamburg-based group is represented through its own direct sales offices in 40 countries and partner companies in approximately 80 other countries. Jungheinrich employs more than 18,000 people worldwide and in 2020 the group reported a turnover of 3.81 billion euros, ie almost 97 billion crowns.
