Mikrokreditna Fondacija Mi-Bospo Tuzla (Mi-Bospo) has received a €3 million loan from the EBRD. The loan will support a number of small business enterprises, in particular those in agribusiness and businesses run by women.
Tuzla-based Mi-Bospo, is situated in the north-eastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Established in 1996 by the World Bank it is now the country’s fourth-largest micro-finance institution.
The first loan that Mi-Bospo received from the EBRD was back in 2007 and the two organisations still enjoy a successful collaboration today. Since 1996, the country has benefited from EBRD investment in 171 projects, totalling around €2.5 billion.
Despite the fact that small business are the backbone of the Bosnia and Herzegovina economy, many of them still find it hard to access finance.
