Kongsberg Automotive, the Norwegian car components manufacturer, has launched a third plant based in Poland. The company invested €35million and now employs over 2,000 workers within Poland.
PAIH (The Polish Investment and Trade Agency) reports that the plant, situated in BrzeĹÄ Kujawski, an industrial zone to the north-west of Warsaw, will be producing vehicle fuel and air ducts as well as heating mats for car seats.
The Norwegian investor which has its base in Kongsberg, manufactures vehicle parts ranging from driver control and interior comfort products to engine coolant and anti-roll bars. In addition they produce a range of PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) pipes which can be used within the automotive industry and in the chemical and other areas of industries.
At its Polish subsidiary Kongsberg's has already hired a large labour force which currently numbers 800 workers, specifically to work at the facility located at BrzeĹÄ Kujawski. The company said that the facility, also called Kuyavian-Brest, will see those numbers increase to 1000 on start of production.
The Norwegian company first set up operations in Poland when it started production at it’s plant in Pruszków near Warsaw in 2000, with their second plant opening in Koluszki, just east of ĹódĹş in 2016.
It was in May 2018 that the Norwegian company Kongsberg Automotive decided to open the third production facility in Poland. In all it has 25 auto component manufacturing plants globally with an annual group revenue around €1.1 billion.
