The contract for the maintenance of the Uni Viridas’ Croation biomass plant based in Babina Greda has been warden to Valmet.  The plant operates on forest wood and wood chips and provides up 10 10MWel of electrical output and 16 Mwth of heat by use of a fluidized bed boiler, the BiowerPower 8. 

The announcement confirms that the companies have been collaborating since 2011, and in 2015 Valmet took over the operation and the maintenance of the biomass power plant.  The two companies intend to continue this collaboration in order the maximise the potential of the plant until at least 2029.

Uni Viridas d.o.o. is part of the special purpose funding  Unit Investment N.V.  Based in Croatia. Unit Investment aims to increase the efficient use of primary materials ensuring that the environmental impact is respected, raising social awareness, providing employment opportunity and contributing to the local economy.
