A new research and development center has been set up in Poland by Electronics Company, TLC Corp. the main focus of this center is research on artificial intelligence, and this is a step in the plan of expansion across Europe.
The focus of this research and development center will be on sectors related to artificial intelligence including processing of natural language, big data analysis, and computer vision among others. It will also work in cooperation with University of Warsaw and Warsaw University of Technology for the introduction of new scientific research talent for strengthening the application of technical achievements in industries, as has been explained by Bartosz Biskupski who is the general manager of European Research and development center by TCL.
According to the Chief technology officer of TCL, Yan Xiaolin, they plan to employ over 100 people in this center in the next couple of years. The resources would not be used by Poland but also in Eastern Europe.
The center will focus on three sectors; Next Generation semiconductor display technology, new material, AI and big data. Intelligent manufacturing will also be addressed by the center along with industrial internet, thereby increasing its importance in the plans of TCL to expand globally and strengthen its technological innovation capacity.
At present, TCL has employed around 8000 technical research staff. The company as more than ten laboratories spread across the world with 26 research and development centers. The investment in this research and development amounted to 4.72 billion in 2017.
TCL exported around 23.8 million televisions in 2017 which is an increase from the previous year to up to 15.9%. It is counted among the leading three brands producing LCD televisions. Their market share amounted to 10.9% in 2017.
