The University of Warmia and Mazury has established a new Renewable Energy Centre. Its main task is research into new sources of energy, biofuels, and utilization of sun, wind and geothermal energy sources.

The centre will also manage the project, obtain EU funding and seek companies to implement the new technologies invented by researchers.

According to the originators of the concept, there are many renewable energy sources in the territory of Warmia and Mazury, for example geothermal sources near Olsztyn.
