With a focus on the needs of the power generation, petrochemical, paper, and water sectors, Sulzer has launched the Lausitz Service Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to deliver sophisticated repair and upgrade services for all kinds of rotating machinery.
Sulzer asserts that this new center will aid operators in enhancing the reliability and productivity of their equipment. The amalgamation of the Jaenschwalde and Schwarze Pumpe Service Centers into a centralized location offers improved service coverage for companies based in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and across Central and Eastern Europe.
The newly established facility, strategically located in the industrial park of Schwarze Pumpe, near the city of Spremberg, symbolizes Sulzer's commitment to the region. “This center serves as a hub for our customers to access Sulzer’s globally recognized rotating equipment services. By merging the top-tier engineering talent from our previous service centers and introducing new capabilities, we can ensure the local industry can quickly reap the benefits of our expertise,” said Uwe Kirstein, Head of Services, North/East region at Sulzer.
Designed to meet Sulzer’s latest LEAN and Environment, Safety, and Health (ESH) standards, the Lausitz Service Center aims to streamline and expedite customer projects by providing a single point of contact.
As an independent service provider (ISP) and global pump original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for all kinds of rotating machinery, Sulzer operates a global network of service centers. The Lausitz Service Center stands as a 'one-stop-shop', offering comprehensive repairs and upgrades for complete trains of pumps, gearboxes, compressors, turbines, blowers, and more. The facility also includes one of Sulzer’s mechanical seal repair shops.
In addition to a robust parts manufacturing capability, the service center offers repair, retrofit, and reverse engineering services. The facility is equipped with a wide range of machine tools that allow for the in-house production of large casings, shafts, and other mechanical parts, thereby reducing costs and lead times for customers. A dedicated team of field service engineers is on standby to swiftly respond to any on-site customer requirements.
Moreover, the service center specializes in offering specific equipment services for the paper industry, supporting refineries and power stations, and maintaining essential pumps used for dewatering and flood control. With new insulation installed, the facility will also significantly lower overall energy consumption and carbon emissions.
