SK Battery Manufacturing Kft., a South Korean electric vehicle plant located in Komarom, Hungary, recently announced plans to start hiring and training additional workers. The plant, which lies some 74 kilometres north of Budapest, hopes to boast some 1,400 workers by the start of 2022.
The plant is designed to produce third-generation EV batteries, which are capable of keeping a charge for 500 kilometres at a time. According to company spokespersons, the facility has a capacity of around 140,00 batteries a year.
SK Battery Manufacturing Kft. is a division of the SK Group, South Korea's largest chemical and energy company, and currently has a major contract with Volkswagen.
