In Poland, there has been an increase in the demand for flexible packaging by 4.5%, this rise in demand reported for 2017 and it is significantly higher than the average demand in entire Europe.
The European flexible packaging markets have appreciated by an average of 1.4% annually, and the demand in Western Europe has maintained a value not lower than 1.2%. This is an indication that the Polish market appreciated four times faster than the development in other parts of Europe. Other countries such as Turkey, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Romania are known to have performed excellently.
Europe’s €12.9bn flexible packaging market remains one of the largest and most sophisticated markets in the world. It currently generates about 20% of the total global output, while Germany controls the largest individual market share.
It is expected that there will be a slight rise in demand from the consumer market in Western Europe. This increase is expected to unfold in the coming years as the demand for packaged food in some EU countries grappling with financial issues is currently appreciating. However, there may be a reduction in the demand recorded for Eastern Europe. Consequently, the analysts project a 1% decline in the markets due to a drop in the consumption figures from Russia and Ukraine
