An electronics manufacturer from the US, Pickering has made announcements regarding its intention to expand its operation by increasing the capacity by 3000m2 in the Czech Republic.
According to Keith Moore, the CEO of Pickering Electronics, predictions were made that their relay business would witness limited life back in 1970. However, they have managed to accomplish the opposites. He states that the company has to face challenges by customers as well as by its sister company Pickering interfaces who expect it to deliver optimal performance in small packages. Thus, the demand for reed relays is at an all-time high.
A wide range of products in the line of switching and simulation for the Picking Interfaces is manufactured by Czech facility. These are used in various applications including LXI, PCI and PXI. Their use is also seen in the value-added assembly of connector solutions and cable.
As per Mr. Moore, the demand for the simulation, verification and test products is witnessing an upward trend owing to the complex automotive and semiconductor manufacturing systems. Thus, more capacity is required and streamlining of manufacturing operations needs to be done. They expect this to be an ongoing process in the Czech Republic as new products are added and activities are supported.
